ARRIVE KOLKATA

  • Welcome by TRIO Representative
  • Transfer to Hotel
  • After Lunch visit the Mother House
  • Later Evening return to Hotel
  • Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
  • The Mother House in Kolkata is the main house Missionaries of Charity’s in Ripon Street (Closed on Thursday). It is a holy place of pilgrimage and reverence to the selfless Mother. At Mother’s House, a small museum named ‘Mother Teresa’s Life, Spirit and Message’ displays Mother Teresa’s personal belongings including her sari, crucifix, rosary, worn sandals, enamel dinner-bowl, a few handwritten letters and spiritual exhortations. The room is preserved in all its simplicity as her life had been with a crown-of-thorns above her modest camp-bed. Prayer petitions can be placed in the box on Mother Teresa’s Tomb.

 

DAY 04

KOLKATA - DELHI (BY FLIGHT)

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Depart to Airport to board flight to Delhi
  • Upon arrival transfer to Hotel
  • After Lunch, Proceed for Delhi sightseeing- Raj Ghat (The cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi), Drive past Red Fort (built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan), and Qutab Minar built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibek in 1199.
  • Later Evening return back to hotel
  • Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
  • Delhi: The name brings the complexities, contradictions, beauty and the dynamism of a city where the past co-exist with the present. Many dynasties ruled here and have left behind a rich heritage of architectural value through their monuments.

 

DAY 05

DELHI

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Proceed to India Gate (War Memorial Arch). Drive past President House, Parliament House, and Government Secretariat Buildings
  • Noon back to Hotel for lunch
  • Free for shopping
  • Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

 

DAY 06

DELHI - AGRA BY SURFACE (127 MILES / 4 HOURS)

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Drive to Agra and check-in at the hotel
  • Lunch at Indian Restaurant
  • Visit Taj Mahal & Agra Fort.
  • Agra is home to one of the “seven wonders of the world – The Taj Mahal”. This city was once the capital of Mughal Empire.
  • The world famous Taj Mahal built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains.
  • Agra Fort contains the Pearl Mosque, the Halls of Public and Private Audience.

 

DAY 07

AGRA - DELHI (BY SURFACE) - GOA (BY FLIGHT)

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Checkout and Drive to Delhi Airport to board flight to Goa en route 
  • Lunch at Indian Restaurant.
  • Arrive at Goa and transfer to Hotel
  • Evening free for relax / enjoy beach activity
  • Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
  • Goa is an amalgamation of colonial wonders, architecture, beaches, and the majestic forts. The Portuguese have been a huge influence on Goa’s unique culture and lifestyle which is in stark contrast to the rest of the country.

 

DAY 08

NORTH GOA

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • North Goa is dotted with some of the most beautiful beaches of Goa. Dona Paula, Calangute, Baga and Miramar Beach are popular beaches of North Goa. North Goa is home to a number of tourist attractions like Fort Aguada,
  • Visit Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral.
  • Visit “Solar Souto Maior”, which is an aristocratic mansion which dates back to the year 1585. The mansion houses a treasure of artifacts.
  • Return to Panjim, Walk through the city and flip back the pages of the Portuguese days.
  • Goan Traditional Lunch at Restaurant
  • Visit Baga Beach, which is one of the most popular, happening and beautiful beaches of Goa. Enjoy the water sports and later for some shopping at the Tibetan market.
  • Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.

 

DAY 09

GOA - CHENNAI (BY FLIGHT)

  • Breakfast at the Hotel
  • Today visit major attractions of South Goa Colva Beach, Palolem Beach, Majorda beaches are some more attractions.
  • After the sightseeing tour of South Goa, Drop at Goa Airport to board flight to Chennai.
  • Upon arrival Chennai – transfer to Hotel.
  • Evening visit Marina Beach (The beach runs from near Fort St. George in the north to Foreshore Estate in the south, a distance of 6.0 km, making it the longest natural urban beach in the country)
  • Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
  • Chennai, on the Bay of Bengal in eastern India, is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu. The city is home to Fort St. George, built in 1644 and now a museum showcasing the city’s roots as a British military garrison and East India Company trading outpost, when it was called Madras.

 

DAY 10

CHENNAI - COCHIN - THRISSUR

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Visit St. San Thome Basilica
  • Later transfer to Chennai airport to board flight to Cochin
  • Arrive Cochin and transfer to Thrissur (by surface – 2hrs)
  • Evening at Leisure
  • Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
  • San Thome Basilica: It is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Santhome. It was built in the 16th century by Portuguese over the tomb of Saint Thomas. In 1983, it was rebuilt as a church with the status of a cathedral by the British. The British version still stands today. This church is one of the only three known churches in the world built over the tomb of an apostle of Jesus, the other two being St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City and Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Galicia, Spain.
  • Thrissur: Is the revenue district of Kerala situated in the central part of the state. Thrissur is known as the cultural capital of Kerala, and the lands of Poorams. The district is famous for its ancient temples, churches, and mosques. Thrissur Pooram is the most colourful and spectacular temple festival in Kerala.

 

DAY 11

THRISSUR- COCHIN

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Visit Arthat St Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral, St Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Palayur.
  • Kodungalloor Church, The Marthoma Pontifical Shrine (Kodungaloor Mar Thoma Church) is considered as first church built by St. Thomas. The church is situated on the banks of the River Periyar
  • Kottakkavu Mar Thoma Syro-Malabar Pilgrim Church, St Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church, North Paravur.
  • Lunch at Indian Restaurant.
  • St. Thomas Church, Malayattoor. (Hilltop visiting is not possible because of the time limit.) St. Thomas the Apostolate set up the church here which has been designated by the Vatican as one among the eight international shrines in the world. It is believed that St. Thomas prayed at this church when he landed in Kerala.
  • St. George Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church Edappally. This is one of the oldest churches in India, built in 594 AD.
  • Basilica of Our Lady of Ransom, Vallarpadam.
  • Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 12

COCHIN - KUMARAKOM - THIRUVALLA

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Checkout and proceed to Mattancherry. Mattancherry is a beautiful city in Kerala where various civilizations of the world have created significant impact which led to the cultural and political synthesis. The Portuguese, Dutch, British ruled the city and used them as their first trade hub till the country got independence. This beautiful city is surrounded by the Cochin backwaters. In Mattancherry we visit St. George Orthodox Church commonly known as Koonankurishu Pally, where the historical Koonankurishu Oath took place. The land has become sacred with the foot prints of the Persian Prelates, first Catholicos Mar Thoma 1.
  • St. Andrew’s Basilica Arthunkal in Alappuzha. Alappuzha popularly known as “Venice of the East”. The church was originally built by the Portuguese missionaries in the 16th century.
  • St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Kokkamangalam. The church has a historical story that St. Thomas sailed to Kokkamangalam and converted 1600 people to Christianity according to the narration in “Rampan Pattu”, an ancient form of Christian community in Kokkamangalam and enshrined a Cross for the faithful. This cross was later cut off by saboteurs, and thrown into the Lake Vembanad, through which it floated up to Pallippuram, where it is enshrined.
  • Move to Kumarakom. Witness the natural beauty of “God’s own country”. Board Houseboat for 01 hrs cruise in backwater with Lunch.
  • Disembark from the House boat and proceed to Manarcad St. Mary’s Cathedral. It is a Jacobite Syrian Church, a destination for people on annual pilgrimages seeking the blessings of the Virgin Mary. The church is one of the largest Christian parish in Kerala.
  • St. George Orthodox Church Puthuppally Pally. Proceed to Thiruvalla, Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 13

THIRUVALLA

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Move to Paliakara St. George Orthodox Church.
  • St. Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Church, Niranam.
  • St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church, Parumala. Parumala Church is the tomb of Saint Gee Varghese Mar Gregarious or Parumala Thirumeni. He died on 02 November 1902 in the presence of thousands of people and hundreds of priests. Many testimonies to the saintly intercession of Mar gregarious made Parumala Church and the tomb a Centre of Pilgrimage.
  • Lunch at Restaurant and visit Nilakkal St. Thomas Ecumenical Church. Saint Thomas came here and preached the good news and baptized 1100 people. Today there exist the Nilackal St. Thomas Church, Ecumenical center trust and the cross established by Saint Thomas the apostle. Later return to Thiruvalla.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.
DAY 14

KOLLAM - TRIVANDRUM - KOVALAM

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Proceed to Kollam Church. In ancient times, Kollam was a famous harbor and trade center. According to local tradition, St. Thomas established a church near the port. It is believed to have been destroyed by the Arabian Sea.
  • Lunch at Restaurant.
  • Experience a boat ride in Ashtamudi Lake and proceed to Kovalam
  • Upon arrival check into beach resort
  • Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 15

KOVALAM - TRIVANDRUM

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • Visit Thiruvithamcode Arappally or Thomayar Kovil or St. Mary’s Orthodox Church. It is a church located in Thiruvithamcode, Tamil Nadu. It is believed by the Christian communities in Kerala that the historic Thiruvithamcode Arappally, also called Amalagiri church as named by the Chera King Uthiyan Cheralathan, was built by St. Thomas, known as the Apostle of India. It is believed to be the world’s oldest existing church structure, built by Thomas the Apostle in 57 AD, and is now declared an international St. Thomas pilgrim center.
  • Lunch at Restaurant
  • Proceed back to kovalam en route visit Shangumugham Beach
  • Evening free for own activities
  • Dinner and Overnight at Resort.
